Are Solar Panels Right For Your Property?

Reduced energy costs from the moment your system is made live!

Get paid for the electricity you generate for the next 20 years

The UK government Feed In Tariff Scheme pay you for the electricity you generate even the electricity you use.

Sell electricity back to the grid

If your system is generating more electricity than you use, you can sell the electricity back to the grid

Reduce your carbon footprint

Solar electricity is green renewable energy and doesn't release any harmful carbon dioxide or other pollutants. A typical home solar PV system could save over a tonne of carbon dioxide per year – that's more than 30 tonnes over its lifetime

Things to take into account are:

Location

The location of the solar panels is very important in order to maximize the performance and energy yield from the solar panel system. The ideal site is south facing at an angle of between 30 and 40 degrees, so that the array receives the maximum amount of sunlight possible. However, the other orientations such as south east or south west can still produce plenty of energy. Do not discount having a solar panel system if your property faces south east/west as there are technologies that help with this.

Mounting Systems

We offer solar panel mounting systems that allow us to mount the panels in a place that suits your property and site requirements – This could be on the roof, flush into your roof tiles, flat roofs or ground mounted systems.

Shade

Any form of shading can have a huge impact on the performance of the solar panel system, this could be trees, buildings next door, chimney and overhead cables. Even if only a small part of a panel is shaded this can affect the whole system. We have systems that can cope with shading so please do not discount having a solar panel system if you do have shading. Call us and we can advise on the right option for you and your property.

How Much Energy will my System Produce?

We will need to visit your property carry out a full survey, we will then design and produce an estimate which will how much your system may generate. The figures are calculated using the government method SAP Standard Assessment Procedure.

Planning Permission

Generally Solar Panel systems do not require planning permission as they are considered “permitted development” under planning law. But if you live in a conservation area, your property is a listed building or you have heard from neighbours that they have been turned down then please do not hesitate in contacting your local planning office for advice and guidance. We are happy to help you out with this.
